Who We Work With

The Southern California Animal Response Team collaborates with various entities and agencies to provide comprehensive and effective disaster response and preparedness for animals in Southern California. These partnerships and collaborations help to ensure a coordinated and well-rounded approach to animal welfare and safety during emergencies.

The list of organizations and agencies that SCART teams up with includes:

  1. Cities and County Offices of Emergency Services: Working closely with local government agencies responsible for emergency management, SCART helps integrate animal response plans into overall disaster preparedness efforts.
  2. Animal Control Services: Collaborating with animal control agencies ensures a unified response in handling and caring for animals during disasters, including rescue, sheltering, and reunification with owners.
  3. Law Enforcement/Fire Agencies: Close coordination with law enforcement and fire departments helps facilitate the safe evacuation and rescue of animals in disaster situations.
  4. Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD): By partnering with VOAD, SCART can tap into a network of trained volunteers who are ready to assist in animal-related disaster response and recovery activities.
  5. Collaborating Organizations Active in Disasters-Orange County (COAD-OC): COAD-OC is a network of organizations that come together to enhance disaster response and recovery. COAD-OC serves as Orange County’s local VOAD. SCART's involvement in COAD-OC ensures a synchronized approach to disaster relief efforts.
  6. SoCal American Red Cross: Collaboration with the American Red Cross allows SCART to align its efforts with a well-established humanitarian organization that provides disaster relief and support to communities.

Through these partnerships, SCART aims to provide a comprehensive and coordinated response to ensure the safety and well-being of animals and their families during times of crisis. By leveraging the expertise and resources of these various organizations, SCART can better fulfill its mission of effective animal disaster response and preparedness.
